How do I buy the units?

When will I be able to download materials?

Immediately. You should receive an email with a link to the download page within the hour.

How do I download the materials after I get the email?

Right click on the link. Select Save Target As. Choose a location for the file to download.

I noticed that it was a Zipped File. How do I unzip?

What is Winzip?

Winzip is a program that compresses and decompresses large files so that they are easier and faster to transfer.

I noticed that it was in PDF. Where can I get the PDF program to open the document?

How are these units better than a traditional science kit? Traditional science kits cost $20.00-$40.00. They usually include instructions and all the ingredients for making a single science project. Why pay so much extra for items that you already have around the house such as baking soda, flour, or vinegar? Our units give instructions and supply lists for 4 simple projects. Most supplies are common household objects. Other items can be purchased at a local grocery or craft store for WAY LESS than it would cost to buy the traditional kit. In addition, we provide follow up material to the projects such as diagrams, crossword puzzles, handwriting sheets, and flash card games.

Couldn't I put together my own science unit study? It took us between 4 and 5 hours a week to develop each project for our science co-op. These units come with 4 easy, ready to make projects- that could save you 25 hours of research time! Also, each of these projects have been tested by parents and kids for sure fire results. No wasting time, energy, or your kid’s enthusiasm on projects that turn out to be a flop!

My child takes science classes at school... OR My child has a science course already included in a packaged homeschool curriculum, why would we want extra science units? Children in Kindergarten through 6th grade naturally love science! The children in our science co-op can not get enough of it! At this level science should be all about exploring and curiosity. Most schools and packaged curriculums focus on the important core subjects of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Little time is left over for science. These units present the material in a fun and simple way. Your kid's will not think of it as work and as there interest grows there other subjects will improve as well. Don't let your kids miss out!

Won't it take a lot of ink to print the units? Please do not print the entire unit after you download it. The units are intentionally packed with information and activities. Please scroll through the unit on your computer and print only the activities that you and your student find appealing. There are two skill levels in the puzzle and quiz sections for your student to choose from.

There is more that one child in my family. Can I reproduce the puzzles for more than one child? Yes! You may use the unit as much as you would like with in your immediate family only.

Can I use this unit in a co-op or classroom setting? A single unit is licensed for use in immediate family only. Please contact us at webmaster@fun-with-science.com to discuss a group rate license. We have a yahoo group to support co-ops working with our curriculum. We are also working on guidelines and other free bonuses for the co-ops. These units are great to do with a bunch of kids. They adapt well to different age groups and skill levels and the kids just love having their own science club!

Can I use these units with students that are different ages? These units are designed to be used by a wide age group. We have had a great response from families with PreK students all the way up to high school students who have adapted the curriculum to fit their needs! There are different levels of worksheets included. Also, the projects and readings can be tailored to different ages.

Is this Creation-based or Evolution-based? We have created our units to be "neutral' leaving room for the parent/teacher to introduce or reinforce their own belief.

Who are the authors? Emily Rogers attended the University of Hawaii obtaining a baccalaureate in Liberal Arts. Emily also has over 7 years of e-commerce experience. Lynnette Robinson attended the University of Rochester and has over 15 years experience in the medical field. They both have been homeschooling for 4 years. Lynnette started the Fun with Science Club in Hawaii in 2004 and Emily soon joined jumping right in! The completed curriculum has been reviewed and approved by several certified elementary school teachers.
